Organizational Structure
The present structure of SERIDA derives from the successive expansions and adaptations of the Centre for Agricultural Experimentation (CEA, 1984-1991), the Institute of Agricultural Experimentation and Promotion (IEPA, 1991-1995) and the Centre for Agri-food Applied Research and Technology (CIATA, 1995-1999).
SERIDA is structured into the following departments:
Administration and Support Department
This department carries out financial, budgetary and personnel management and hiring, as well as handling legal consultations and the management and coordination of the use and maintenance of facilities and other resources. It also provides its services, both in-house and externally, for the dissemination of bibliographic resources, files and other documentation related to the functions carried out by SERIDA in research matters. It is organized into the following sections: Budgetary, Hiring and Personnel Management; Support and Auxiliary Resources; and Coordination of the Grado Experimental Station.
Research Department
This department is responsible for the scientific management of research programmes and coordinates research activities and resources with the activities carried out by the Technology and Service Department and the Administration and Support Department. It is organized into the following sections: Animal Production Systems; Nutrition, Grassland and Forage; Animal Healthcare; Animal Genetics and Reproduction; Horticultural and Forest Crops; and Food Technology. Technology and Service Department
This department is responsible for channelling the SERIDA technological offer to the agri-food sector, acting in close coordination with research areas and the sector and institutional actors involved in agricultural development. It is organized into the following sections: Agricultural and Forest Experimentation and Demonstration; Livestock Experimentation and Demonstration; Animal Selection and Reproduction; Agri-food; and Transfer and Training.
